What is solid waste produced by a sewage-treatment plant is called runoff slime sludge discharge
Solution 1

sludge

Sewage treatment is also known as wastewater treatment. It is a process whereby contaminant is removed from wastewater. Thus, chemical, biological and physical process are commonly used to remove contaminants from wastewater and the by-products of wastewater treatment is usually inform of solid waste known as sewage sludge.

Solution 2

Answer:

sludge

Question
Compare and contrast the processes of RNA transcription and RNA translation
Solution 1
RNA transcription occurs in the nucleus. This is the process of turning DNA into mRNA. To do so, it would be using a RNA Polymerase. This enzyme codes the RNA strand using the DNA strand as a template. But before the RNA Pol. can transcribe it, it isn’t able to just bind onto the DNA by itself. First, helicase will come in and unwind the DNA. There will be a promoter region where the TATA Box lies. Transcription factors will bind there and this lets the RNA Polymerase know where to bind. Once RNA Polymerase sees the Transcription Factors and binds to the promoter, it will start to code for the RNA. RNA Translation is turning mRNA into a polypeptide (protein). It occurs in the cytoplasm. We will need tRNA, mRNA, Ribosome, and amino acids for this step. The mRNA will bind to the ribosome. tRNA is in charge of bringing the correct amino acids that match with each codon of the mRNA sequence. As it brings the amino acid, a peptide chain will form. Once it gets to the end, the peptide chain will fall off and form a polypeptide.
Question
A blood pressure reading of 120/80 Question 2 options: a. indicates a diastolic blood prssure of 120. b. is an indication of hypertension in a resting adult. c. indicates a systolic blood pressure of 120. d. is determined by using a sphygmomanometer to measure blood pressure in the veins.
Solution 1
A blood pressure reading of 120/80 is determined by using a sphygmomanometer to measure blood pressure in the veins.  The top number is the systolic pressure and the bottom number is the diastolic pressure.
Question
Why is research and development an integral part of the designing and producing process of an aerospace product?
Solution 1
The reason why research and development is an integral part of the designing and producing process of an aerospace product is that the aerospace industry is constantly pushing the limits of technology. Hope this answers your question.

Question
In which of the following processes does mitosis play a vital role? 1. the production of gametes for sexual reproduction 2. the production of new body cells to replace old cells 3 the production of additional embryonic cells following fertilization
Solution 1

Answer: 2. the production of new body cells to replace old cells

Mitosis is a form of cell division that results in two daughter cells that are identical (genetically) to each other and to its original cell. It plays a vital role in the life cycle of most living things.

In single-celled (unicellular)  organisms such as bacteria, mitosis is a type of asexual reproduction, making identical copies of a single cell.

In multicellular organisms, mitosis produces new cells to replace old cells and promote growth and repair.

Solution 2

Answer:

The production of new body cells to replace old cells;

The production of additional embryonic cells following fertilization.

Question
Which feature do viruses have in common with animal cells? f Production of energy by a mitochondrion g Existence of lipids in cell membranes h Presence of a genetic code in nucleic acid j Ability to form proteins at the ribosomes Questions regarding this site should be directed to Steve Gagnon. Please include this question's ID number (#7275) in your c
Solution 1
Answer: Presence of a genetic code in nucleic acid

The set of information encoded in genetic material RNA or DNA sequence and translated into proteins is known as genetic code. Thus, the genome of an organism is inscribed in DNA or viruses RNA and the portion of the genome that code for a protein is commonly refers to as gene.

Question
. Many cities have “combined” sewers. In good weather, these systems funnel sewage to treatment plants. During rainstorms street runoff is combined with sewage. Combined sewers in cities can be problematic because _____. the sewers cannot handle the volume of waste from street runoff and sewage sewers are often blocked by trash that people have thrown into them street runoff cannot flow into the sewers and be safely taken to treatment plants street runoff often causes the sewers to deteriorate
Solution 1

The given blank can be filled with the sewers cannot handle the volume of waste from street runoff and sewage.

The combined sewage system is very popular in many big cities. The sewage system handles all the sewage combining from the houses. During the rainy season, the water flows in the sewer, causing the overflow of the sewers and spread of water in the nearby regions.

Solution 2
A.) The sewers cannot handle the volume of waste from street runoff...
Question
Thermal pollution kills fish primarily because _____. all fish need cool water fish eggs overheat fish swim too close to pipes warm water holds less oxygen
Solution 1

Answer:

Warm water holds less oxygen

Explanation:

Thermal pollution may be defined as the cahnge in the ambient water temperature that can degrade the water quality. Main cause of thermal pollution is the use of water as coolant in industries.

Thermal pollution is harmful for aquatic life. Fish and other aquatic organismsm dies because thermal pollution increases the temperature of water. This warm water has less ability to hold oxygen and fishes die due to the lack of oxygen in water.

Thus, the correct answer is option 4.

Solution 2
Warm water holds less oxygen

Question
The graph above shows global surface temperatures from 1845 to 2005. Which is least likely the cause for the increase in surface temperature recorded from 1950 to 2005? A) heat generated at the earth's surface due to human processes B) more albedo effect on the earth's surface C) less energy from the Sun is reflected D) heat is trapped in the earth's atmosphere 5)
Solution 1

The answer is A) HEAT GENERATED AT THE EARTH'S SURFACE DUE TO HUMAN PROCESSES

Solution 2
I would say the answer is D) heat is trapped in the earth's atmosphere because of the green house effect
